'Rosy' depicts refugee children in Hong Kong who face a challenging and harsh reality. Of the fourteen thousand or more refugees and asylum seekers in this city, many are children who are left vulnerable and in poverty. For these children, their futures remain uncertain. The red bauhinias are a symbol of Hong Kong. Its delicate form and warm colours evoke a sense of hope, peace, and childhood-like innocence amidst the melancholic imagery.
